IU's Tom Crean gives high praise to ex-BU recruit Remy Abell

In a speaking engagement on the Indiana Hoosiers fan tour -- Tom Crean stepped to the mike and issued a lot of great praise for Remy Abell...
he compared Remy to Dwyane Wade...
and then said this about Remy not being ranked higher.......

"Crean: "I never put a lot of stock in the rankings, we never would've signed Dwyane Wade."

Then Tom Crean says this amazing statement about Remy Abell ---
"Crean on Abell: "Right now off the street, he's the best guy on our team at getting to the rim."

What's amazing is that Remy has JUST graduated from high school, and Tom Crean has a whole roster full of 20-22 year olds who are solid 3-Star and 4-STAR recruits -- he's had top rated recruiting classes the last three years -- and he's hardly even had much of a chance to see and evaluate Remy because of the recruiting limitations -- so he still says solidly that Remy is the BEST at getting to the basket and scoring of everyone he has -- wow!!!

Then Tom Crean reveals that he was actively recruiting Remy Abell way back a year ago -- and would have offered and landed him back then except he didn't have an open scholarship!

"Crean: "If we'd have had a scholarship (last summer) we probably would've given it to Remy."

I think this kinda BLOWS away those who argued Remy never had an offer any higher than midmajor...


Then after saying all that last night on Wednesday -- he backs it up by personally tweeting this Thursday morning..and raving about Remy Abell ...

"One aspect that Remy Abell is going to bring here is the ability to get all the way to the rim on drives to the basket."
