Some BU news....

as the NEW Bradley head coach is making appointments on a furious basis and meeting with other local high school coaches, and many of the members of the Braves Scholarship Society.....we'll be hearing more news soon, such as this about a new hire as an assistant coach...

Here's some BU player followups...and more..

Boogie Wright has helped carry his team in Finland to the Semi-Finals for their league championship..
in the 5 game series that Boogie's team just won...he scored 94 pts and had 41 rebounds (18.8 ppg & 8.2 rebs!)
-- performing even better than his regular season averages of 17.9 ppg/7.3 rpg

Cellus had yet another great game for Paris-Levallois -- 18 pts, 8 rebs as he rallies his team to try to make the playoffs...

Osiris Eldridge's Turkish team is really tanking...
at one point they were battling for the top spot in their Turkish league, now they are getting beat by bottom feeders...(they lost to 15th place Bornova last week.)

Saturday they had to face a good team, Fener.Ulker, and Osiris had arguably one of his worst games ever as a pro as he scored only 2 points, and had just 2 rebounds in 32 minutes while his team got shellacked 82-66 by
OE's league stats have plummetted to just 10.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg...he also has more turnovers than assists.

Here's some pretty interesting news on LeBron James' mom....arrested again!! Drunk!!

Charged this time with...simple battery & disorderly intoxication

She is 42 years old -- Lebron James will be 27 later this year...

"... the arrest report states..... the valet gave the keys to the valet cashier. James then allegedly confronted the employee, demanded her keys and then "struck the victim with an open hand across the right side of the face."
Police said that she had bloodshot eyes and a "strong odor of alcohol on her breath," WFOR reports.

Once she arrived at the police station, officers said that James was uncooperative.

It is not James' first run-in with the law. In Jan. 2006, she was arrested in Akron, Ohio for driving while intoxicated and disorderly conduct, the station reports."

Anyone recall Cody Larson who asked out of his LOI to Iowa the same time Ben Brust did ....
Larson - a 4-STAR bog man - subsequently went to Florida and just finished his freshman year there....but did not play at all and is redshirting...
Now he may not even play next year since he and fellow teammate, sophomore Erik Murphy, and team assistant/student manager Josh Adel were just arrested on felony charges...

Here's another odd followup...
Remember the Philadelphia college coach who was accused of being too rough on one of his players and the kid called the police....?

Here' some interesting followup to this story of the coach at the small college who was quite physical with one of his own players...
..then the player filed police charges saying he was attacked and had the video put up on YouTube...

the coach was minimally disciplined and offered an apology to the kid but the kid quit the team and refused to accept the apology...
Ultimately the coach resigned after a lot of pressure from the media...and the police scoffed at any idea of pursuing charges and dropped the whole thing...

So...just when you thought this whole story was completely dead and buried...

Though the story died down a little bit...until the season ended and the head coach John O'Connor then stepped down...and the new coach is Phil Martelli's nephew.

BUT ---- Now, the player himself, Matt Kravchuk, is in trouble as well...and back in the news, much to his own dismay!!
He was arrested this week at a Philadalphia Phillies game for theft of a couple beers from the concession stand!
The beers were valued at $15 9typical beer prices for big league stadium), and...
The kid is just 19 so he's obviously underage -- and he attacks the news reporter who asks the questions as if he should be immune from being covered by the press...

*** BTW -- the reason this is a felony is because the kid has multiple other offenses...which requires the Philly police to charge this theft as a felony.

"Matt Kravchuk, the former Holy Family University basketball player who gained national attention after his coach knocked him to the floor
....was arrested Wednesday night while attending a Phillies' game..
..charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole two alcoholic beverages from a concession stand

"I'm just in college, I don't know why people care about my life," Kravchuk said when asked if he cared to comment on the incident.

"You pretty much know why," the station's photographer responded. "Do you think you owe the Phillies an apology?"

"You guys owe me an apology, stay out of my life," Kravchuk, sporting a Phillies' T-shirt, said as he walked away."

Now the press isn't being so kind to Kravchuk...

NCAA hypocrisy at it's best...
Jim Calhoun inexplicably gets to ride it out and win the national title and earn his extra pay when he broke far more rules, than the poor kid from Baylor...

Nice to see so many people reading and even taking things from this blog and discussing them elsewhere...especially now that the traffic is up so much on the Bradley message board even tho it's the off season.
In case to didn't note -- just check BradleyFfans' front page and there's always 100 or more viewers compared to only 3 or 4 at any given time on competing boards...

But if you're getting the info here that gets reposted I don't care -- but then don't claim you find it yourself...
And again thanks for stopping by - shows who you really respect for getting your info... ;)
(since this site keeps track of the referring sites via the links elsewhere I can see that certain message boards are the source of literally hundreds of views and hits here...
Maybe I should sell advertising space... naww...don't need the $$ ;) )
