Geno, Cully, College Basketball & Coaching News, and more Global Warming panic!

New BU coach Geno Ford is said to be going to toss out a 1st pitch and sing
"Take Me Out to the Ball Game" at the 7th inning stretch at one of the Cubs' upcoming games...

Here's a weird one -- the well travelled Cully Payne is at it again....
he transferred high schools, then verballed to DePaul, then unverballed, then verballed to Alabama, then unverballed, then went to Iowa.
Now after just a year of actual playing at Iowa -- he sees what almost everyone I know of saw long ago -- that he is simply not going to excel at the Big Ten or BCS level...and he has now quit at Iowa and is transferring.

But there's one problem for Cully -- that he has pretty much sat out all this year already, and now if he transfers to any other D-I, he'd have to sit out yet another year. He wouldn't be eligible until fall of 2012! But maybe he and his handlers have already explored the Jake-Kelly-immediate waiver -- maybe Cully will argue hardship to try to become eligible right away....let's see.....
but this time around will he see the light and go mid-major?

Missouri just hired their new coach but two of the starters are not going to wait and see -- they are bolting to the NBA...

Kansas' Josh Selby will also leave and hire an agent...

Here's what the Kentucky people blame for their Final Four loss...
they claim their bad shooting -- it's "the locale"...the hoops.......

Want to read something funny?? By now you might know that at one point Bradley was entertaining the idea of interviewing Princeton's coach Sydney Johnson. the people on the Princeton message board thought that was ludicrous -- as they viewed Princeton as a far, far better job than Bradley -- almost a blind support of their school as if they are duke or some other top BCS job!

Well yesterday, Princeton's head coach Sydney Johnson left Princeton to go to.....Fairfield of all places....a tiny, really low level mid-major....and apparently Princeton didn't even make a counter-offer!

So watch their board melt down....they simply cannot understand this.....
There are numerous threads devoted to their disbelief and astonishment that their coach left for a job as obscure as Fairfield!

Then to make the whole thing even funnier...they argue they should go after Northwestern's Bill Carmody and hire him!
This even in the face that Northwestern just extended and gave a raise to Carmody and obviously a high paying Big Ten job is clearly superior to the Princeton job!

There's word this morning that Lamar has hired Pat Knight!!
Here's the updated list of coaching changes...
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?p=227046#post227046Report thois morning also that Cuonzo Martin at Tennessee is interested in hiring ex-Kentucky assistant and ex-DePaul head coach Tracy Webster as assistant at UT...

I have an open question....remember last time Bradley hired a head coach?? Remember all the cries of racism and favoritism and that the fix was in and that some candidates - especially the minority candidates were NOT given a fair shake??

Well....then how come nobody spewed the same crap this time?? After all....virtually every candidate whose name was mentioned or who was reportedly interviewed was white (Lusk, Montgomery, Monson, Ford....) and really only one was Black and he turned tail and was apparently run off.......
So why have we NOT seen the same level of vitriol from the know-it-alls who always seems to know more than anyone else and who always claim to be on the moral high platform?
Or -- was the whole thing last time just a charade because they didn't get their guy, McClain, in as head coach so they simply grabbed the most convenient and lame argument, the RACE CARD??
Yup -- that's clearly what happened then and even though the exact same circumstances occurred again this time with a white guy getting hired over other Black candidates....
we didn't heard the same arguments......but I am sure we would have if McClain had made it known he wanted the position.
Makes you wonder how sincere many of those race card arguments are -- I suspect they serve only to be used as a political tool and a weapon to sling at anyone who disagrees with you. Note one of the local PJ Star guys repeatedly used the race card when slamming Jim Les and hailing WM.

Did you see this -- panic in the Arctic....the ozone layer is shrinking!!
Didn't we go through all this panic back a decade or so ago in the Antarctic?? And all those worries proven to be phony...and now they're doing it to us again!!

But -- note the difference this time around...
This guy is at least honest to state what is the BIGGEST threat to the ozone layer.
It is not pollution nor freon gases....

The cause (and the continuing and ongoing biggest threat) is...
".. a very cold winter in the stratosphere"
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1373619/Arctic-ozone-layer-hole-growing-record-rate-increasing-UV-ray-exposure.html

So.... it's COLD WEATHER that's the culprit....COLD -- not global warming -- so the guy hints that we'd be far better off if it actually got warmer!!
Can these climate-panic guys ever get their stories straight??
It's as confusing as heck --
drought is blamed on global warming...
heavy rains are blamed on global warming...
heavy hurricane seasons are blamed on global warming...
light hurricane seasons are blamed on global warming...
hot weather is blamed on global warming...
cold weather is blamed on global warming....
heavy snow gets blamed on global warming...
lack of snow and melting snow layers get blamed on global warming...
floods are blamed on global warming...
and of course long rainless spells are likewise blamed on global warming...
even earthquakes have been blamed on global warming - by no greater experts than these two guys.....
