As many know, scientists are now identifying the actual genome - or the precise genetic nature of humans and other animals...
For decades some said when the truth is known about the precise genetic characteristics we will see how closely related and thus how obviously descended humans are from apes and chimpanzees.
Basically, the "experts" have hung their hats on the proof from deciphering the genomes of humans and chimps and claim it'll be the proof that's undeniable.
But now the science HAS weighed in..and guess what?? You are not hearing any crowing coming from the scientists who were expecting this to be the smoking gun of evolutionary proof.
In fact,- the genetic makeup of humans and chimps is blowing their argument totally out of the water...
it's totally unexpectedly different!! Instead of humans and chimps having "99% the same" or "90% the same" genetic makeup...the actual fact is that it's more like 50-60% the same...about the exact similarity that almost all living, breathing, metabolizing creatures have in common...
In fact one expert admits that human genetic material and genome is no more similar to chimps than it is to chickens!!
Just maybe some of the experts need to go back and rethink their theory...

Here's a story that's really more appropriate for April Fool's Day...
this is a video of a Democratic congressman (Hank Johnson) who seriously believes that the island of Guam will tip over if there are too many people on it...and uses the concern to stop sending US troops there!
The guy must think islands are floating bodies of land..

In other words...if Guam is left to themselves, they'd do far more damage and destroy the environment far worse and far faster, than if the US people are there - because we will likely do a far better job and save the island!!!
So - in summary--------..instead of looking at the Army and Americans as the cause of their problems, they should be looking at us as the saviors of their problems...
they should be begging for more US troops, US aid, and US money and technology...it's the only thing keeping their islands from becoming a HUGE pile of garbage!!

Yup, we have a "blue moon", or an extra full moon, on the final night of the year...
giving us 13 full moons in this calendar year instead of the slightly more common 12. Most of us won't really notice, since it'll probably be cloudy, but this whole thing made me recall one of the toughest questions in all of astronomy...
A question that is both tough yet simple and at least to me is convincing evidence that what we see in astronomical terms isn't all just happenstance. It isn't just the end results of a huge and random explosion...it was clearly designed with proper laws in place, even if all of human intelligence still cannot figure out those laws or understand them.
It is actually quite a simple question, but you try to come up with an answer.
Even the top experts with Einstein-like intelligence and capabilities still dispute the answer to this very simple question.
"Why does the same side of the moon always face the earth?"
(and please don't bring up the term "dark side" of the moon, because it certainly isn't always dark although since we cannot see it, the other side might as well be dark!)

the most commonly presented answer is that it's due to the tides, but that answer falls far short of being really adequate or universally accepted.

I am sure you know.... that for thousands and thousands of years, the moon has pretty much shown the exact same side towards the earth.
We here on earth can never see much more than a little over 50% of the moon's surface from our vantage point. (the actual amount that can be seen from earth is a bit OVER 50% since we reside on a planet that's wide enough that as the earth rotates, we get a viewing perspective that's a little wider than just a single pinpoint for observation purposes.)
But- supposedly this wasn't always so that the moon always showed us the same face, since the moon's rotation may have been faster in the distant past...but we don't really know - it's all just guesswork as nobody was here to notice.
But is it just a PURE coincidence that the current face of the moon is always pointed towards earth??
If the moon's time of rotation and of revolution around the earth differed by a mere 0.0001%, then it would easily be detectable, and over a few years, the "unseen" side of the moon would gradually come into view...
BUT IT NEVER DOES.....NEVER!!
And even the top scientists in the history of the world have absolutely NO widely accepted explanation of this phenomenon..
Does that puzzle you??
It sure puzzles me.....I actually have my undergraduate degree in physics and astronomy and I find this intriguing!
Wouldn't you think that someone would find a reasonable explanation for such a relatively common phenomenon - since Mercury's orbit around the sun is of the exact same nature - same side always pointing towards the center of it's orbit..facing the sun. and there are other examples too, but then take Jupiter or Saturn for example...
they each have gobs of moons, and NONE of them follow the same scenario....none of them have the same side always facing the mother-planet.

These guys also use a variant of the earth's "tidal" action reasoning, and it's gravity...thus they claim the moon used to spin a lot faster, but the earth's forces have now slowed it down and we just happen to be living at the precise time in all of history that the moon's rotation has coincidentally slowed to exactly the same time as it's revolution around the earth.
Of course, they then offer NO explanation whatsoever why such a theoretical force that is responsible for this has now turned itself off, and the moon is now locked in at the present rate instead continuing to slow down as would be expected if their theory had even an ounce of reason!

Others have argued it is due to forces that existed long ago when earth and the moon were molten or liquid, but those explanations cannot be valid because as soon as the bodies solidified, the loss of those forces, would result in gradually the moon's rotation and revolution varying slightly.
But even though they have been each changing over the eons for independent reasons, yet the same side of the moon still always faces earth.....so some unknown force or answer must STILL be effecting the bodies.
I also find it odd that of all the articles and theories presented, each is willing to say "yes, we have the answer", but few are actually willing to openly admit that the experts don't really have a solid clue..
it's almost as if there's an agreement to keep this one kinda quiet so it won't embarrass the experts.

The guy comes to the conclusion that since the moon has a lot of iron, and the earth has a magnetic field, then it must be the earth's magnetic influence on the iron in the moon that causes the moon to always face the earth in he same manner.
BUT-- other sources say this theory is absolute poppycock, and here's why..!
We sit in the middle of the earth's magnetic influence...it is no stronger anywhere than right where you sit..
yet if you sprinkle some fine iron shavings onto a piece of paper....check and see if they line up or move about as a result of the earth's magnetic influences...
go ahead and maybe even give them a million years, or even spray some silicone on the paper to reduce friction...
Guess what, they will never line up or move a micron, as the earth's magnetic field is so relatively weak, that it cannot even budge the tiniest little piece of iron on earth....

Next question we might ponder is that if one of the strongest rules in all of the universe is the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics
(the entropy rule that things always get more random and never get MORE organized on their own in nature),
then one has to ask, how did all the space dust all get stuck together and finally come into being as massive bodies formed of dozens of elements and millions of compounds in mega-massive suns and planets in precise orbits around each other?
Specifically, if all started as a giant cloud of dust in space, how do you get tiny particles of dust and individual molecules all moving a millions of miles per hour, to just suddenly stop moving and colliding and bouncing off each other, and just start sticking to each other and growing into massive bodies like giant stars?
Trust me, it isn't easy -- even the top scientists really don't have a clue, although they'll act like they know and come up with some pretty shaky theories...
Recall, these tiny particles of Hydrogen, helium, etc...are so darned near weightless/massless that even if placed dead still in space right next to each other, they have such little gravity that they would actually repel rather than stick to each other.
And if they are moving through space at any velocity at all, then nothing is going to get them to stick to each other - they'd just zip right by each other or collide and bounce away.
No known theory can account for the origin of larger bodies in space.
BUT-- once you have the large bodies, then the big ones gradually get more gravity and might grow larger, but you have to completely jump PAST the hardest step to get to the easier steps...but heck - why not, after all science doesn't care about those details, does it??
I am reminded of a story where the so-called experts were totally fooled by the "facts" that they saw...

A group of college students made couterfeit artworks, then planted then so they'd be found and discovered as if accidentally, then be hailed as immensely valuable and "re-discovered" works of art.
Then just when it happened, the students stepped forward and even produced videotape showing and PROVING the items were phony and worthless...........
yet since the so-called experts had been fooled SO BADLY and they had certified the works as legitimate and authentic....that those experts STILL stood behind the fakes and argued they were real - even in the presence of evidence that convinced everyone else.

I saw that Discovery show last night doting on every word he says...or actually every word his computer churns out because he can't talk...and obviously there are all kinds of opinions, but the one opinion of whether there ARE other civilizations "out there" on other planets has only 2, maybe 3 answers...
Either yes, no, or maybe - don't care - don't have a way to know...etc...
Here's my thoughts.........
after decades of everyone having high hopes about the possibility of finding intelligent life elsewhere, now Hawking says it would kinda be for us like it was for the Native Americans when Columbus arrived...
There'd be little reason those intelligent aliens would spend the time, effort, and whatever they have in place of money to come here except for wanting what we have and they'd probably treat us poorly in the process..
In other words...if they ever did make themselves known to us or come here, it probably would be because they ruined their own world and are coming here to take ours or it's resources.
BUT --- here's another thought...Steven Hawking does concede the the highest probability would be that if we find life elsewhere it would NOT be intelligent, but would be primordial or just like bacteria..
BUT if there are intelligent beings elsewhere...one thought is that SOME....maybe even JUST ONE (as long as they're postulating millions of possible habitable planets) -- would have done something by now that we'd have seen...
visited us, sent a signal, generated explosions or electromagnetic waves, something that we would have detected and yet we haven't...we've seen nothing....
And there's no area in science where the total LACK of even a tiny piece of evidence still draws HUGE hopes and beliefs that what we have no evidence for still exists - and not even exists but those scientists draw up detailed speculation about all the aliens that exist and even what they eat and how they function!!
This, to any real scientists, is NOT what science is about - and this is cartoonish fantasy...but honestly, the science on aliens is absolutely absent and non-existent....

you can't use the argument that the universe is nearly limitless so the statistical probability is HIGH of some planet out there having life...
Then turn right around and deny MY ARGUMENT, that if it is so limitless, then SURELY by now one of those planets with life would be way ahead of us and would have BY NOW done something we would have detected!! -- They'd have made themselves obvious or apparent to us, on purpose!!
We've been to several other planets and moons (both with human explorers and probes) and we've made NO effort whatsoever to hide our trips to the moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, etc...
Surely if there was life out there they'd have seen us or detected us..and so why are they all hiding...or are they???
Also -- surely we wouldn't be the MOST advanced of those societies...surely some planet - of the supposed gazillions out there - houses beings that are far more advanced than us...so why have we not seen them nor have they found US and visited us..???
And why do we always presume that any being coming from another world always represents that entire world...
It sure isn't the case here on earth...we are so factionated and when one of our astronauts goes anywhere, he certainly isn't representing all the people on earth....just the naiton that sends him....so any theoretic discussions he'd have with beings elsewhere wouldn't necessarily represent the feelings of everyone else on earth...

True science should take a neutral position and neither believe nor disbelieve anything unless it's proven. Yet we see scientists (who all want to make something off their opinion - usually doing TV or selling books) claiming they still believe in something no evidence exists for..
The true scientific position should be that the more time goes by and no evidence exists, then the less likely we are going to ever find any evidence.
You obviously can't prove something doesn't exist but you can disprove each individual piece of evidence (about 95-98% do eventually get disproven, but after a while people get tired of disproving so many bits of useless and false evidence).
It's actually fantasy to speculate all these things about aliens and other worlds...
and, by the way....we're no closer to ever going out there or getting to another world than we were 40 years ago...and not likely to get any closer in the forseeable future.
So in the end it probably doesn't even matter what anyone thinks...
unless the aliens come here and finally reveal themselves...and don't hold your breath on that one...

PS-- by virtually universal agreement, the definition of science requires that the scientist remain objective and somewhat skeptical of unproven events, especially those events and phenomenon that have such a dearth of evidence.
Science is all about the measurable, reproducible, observable, and studyable...
anyone who has studied science, or spent years in college learning many aspects of it or who have a degree in physics would agree.
Any talk of other beings or aliens leads to really wild conjecture....sort of like a few people stealthily knocking down some wheat stalks at night, then spawning a whole realm of alien believers who swear it was caused by aliens even when those who did it step forward with video evidence. So when scientists begin speculating about aliens as Hawking did...even guessing what aliens on Jupiter would have to be like - low weight and made of gaseous elements - or silicon based on planets that have little or no carbon, then he enters the realm of speculative, fiction, and fantasy...and NOT SCIENCE.
To even pretend that this was a scientific program then throw in all that fiction and fantasy totally destroys the credibility...
It would be as if I tried to study how the brain worked then blend into my science - the opinion that ghosts exist and that invisible goblins are responsible for unexplained phenomenon about the brain....
It takes us backwards 200 years in science, and I am quite disappointed that Hawking chose to throw in so much fantasy and dreaming, but I am sure the show's producers wanted it so it would be more appealing to the relatively non-scientific audience. I am sure they weren't too worried about ticking off the few scientists in the viewing audience that would call them on their completely un-scientific process!

OK...Al Gore has basically preached one main thing to all earth residents for the past decade....
That man-made global warming is a fact and that it's going to cause serious consequences that can wipe out species...even maybe mankind!!
And as a corollary, there are a couple main things he's been preaching.......
and don't get me wrong - I am not against Al Gore's right to spend his $$ any way he wants, but I just want to point out the blatant hypocrisy here....that he tells everyone else to live a certain lifestyle that he does NOT live. And all his friends in the media aren't likely to let you in on this news story, at least I haven't seen it in any of the standard network reports........
But here are the main things Al Gore has preached to us and claimed them to be "settled science"...
--One is that man MUST cut back on his carbon footprint and produce fewer waste gases....we need to reign in our excesses and stop burning so much fossil fuel on our excesses like heating our mansions and flying our jets..or else the earth will suffer severe consequences from global warming (now changed to climate catastrophe to dodge the fact that much of the globe is actually cooling..).
--And the other is that as global warming progresses, the ice caps will melt and everything within miles of the ocean is going to flood...and maybe sooner than we think, changing the landscape dramatically and putting much of Florida and California under the ocean!!!
OK...then I have to ask this.....
Did you see the news story about Al Gore's recent purchase of a nearly $10 million house near the beach in California??
No - I am serious.......he just bought an enormous mansion near the ocean....which pretty much tells me that just maybe he's not even so sure of the worries that he, himself preaches...
If we're killing ourselves and the earth with the fossil fuels we burn, then why in the HELL does he fly private planes and build a mansion that must take an enormous amount of fossil fuels to heat/cool/heat the water & the pool, the spa, etc..... and the garbage and waste that's emitted...whoa...
Then, seriously, the most laughable issue is that this house is going to be either under water or isolated and surrounded by water within the next couple decades if his own words are true!!
Thus, this proves how enormous of a hypocrite the man is. Not that I didn't already suspect it, but now this has even gotten a few raised eyebrows out of some of the libs....

Myth #2 -- I saw yet another in an endless documentary claiming that Bigfoot is a real, yet to be discovered species of primate.
OK-- I hardly know where to start on this one...
First, if a species of animal is spotted in every state of the US, in every Canadian province, and even on some small islands off the coast of Washington State and Canada...then are you really that naive to believe we still have never caught one or even found one dead somewhere - given all the highways where people hit and kill every other species of animal?
Also, don't forget all that technology, all those automated trail cameras and videos that have still never shown convincing evidence of even ONE.
How about the "Patterson film", right???
This one really has to involve some naivete....
The single best piece of evidence of Bigfoot, that all the proponents keep hanging their hats on is the Patterson film.
It is a grand total of about 20 seconds of film shot in 1967 on a hand held 8mm camera.
It purports to be filming a creature from a distance of at least 20 to 30 yards..showing what appears to just about any objective viewer to be a man in a monkey suit.
Just do a little reading on this and you'll see that the main guy, Patterson, already had a fascination with Bigfoot so it was no fluke that this was a set up, but also there were clear efforts by both men to cash in on the film and even lawsuits followed.
Suffice to say that NO primate besides man walks with arms swinging smoothly at his side in opposition to leg movement. All other primates use their arms like a tightrope walker or drag their knuckles if walking on their two hind feet.
BUT -- if you say it's because Bigfoot is a new species, then why does it look exactly like a store-bought gorilla suit?
Anyway...if this is the best evidence they can come up with, then this piece of film is far, far less convincing than the baloon boy story...so you have to want to believe awful hard not to see how foolish you are buying into this scam.
Anyway...after more than 40 years....we now have overwhelming evidence that all of this Bigfoot stuff is a hoax...all you have to do is open your eyes and read it.
this is really one of the easiest and most preposterous ideas to debunk...since no real convincing evidence exists that coulod hold up to any decent scrutiny.

Myth #3 - which brings up the natural next argument -- that flying saucers and UFO's are really beings from another world visiting earth.
One of the strongest arguments we hear is that there's an endless number of other suns and planets out there - so it would be ignorant to to think there aren't lots of other worlds "out there" with life and even with intelligent life.
Well, I can use that argument, too....because if there's an almost endless numbers of possible advanced civilizations, then at least one of them would have come here and MADE THEMSELVES KNOWN!! Why are they all so mysterious...hiding...but then doing such a bad job of hiding that they leave silly little traces of their existence. But they always leave ONLY as much evidence of their existence as needed to be doubtful...just a grainy film or snapshot....or some bent wheat stalks, etc..
Seriously -- why would they travel all the way here and NOT take some of the earth's great natural resources?? Isn't it known that earth is pretty unique...we know of NO OTHER planet like it...
It is clearly the only known planet with lots of water, and with all the known heavy elements in abundance right on the surface.
The most intelligent among us, like Stephen Hawking, knows this full well....that if there were aliens and if they did come here, that it would NOT be good for us, because they'd undoubtedly take what they wanted.
Plus you have to admit that people on earth do some really, really funny things if you are an observer from outer space...
we kill each other sometimes randomly, we kill our own babies, we harm and kill our own "loved ones", we put damaging drugs and other hideous substances into ourselves, we spend our resources cutting holes in our bodies, tatooing ourselves, and making body parts bigger, we do just about anything to avoid actually getting along...so why wouldn't aliens want to come do some studies on what gives here on earth...
They'd want to get some interviews and find out what this behavior is all about.
This self-destructive behavior is precisely what has caused our own leaders to waste the vast majority of our own resources trying to combat problems here, leaving no money left for us to ever explore outer space..
we probably never will get back into space...despite now being more than 40 years more advanced than when we went to the moon.
Even if we ignore all the obvious proof that aliens have not come to earth - like the vast distances they'd have had to travel, the time it would have taken, the enormous hazards of long space travel that will ultimately prevent us - no matter how advanced we ever get - from traveling even beyond our own moon, then there are still many other proofs.
The large majority of the films and pictures have already been proven hoaxes. If you were shopping for a rare baseball card to complete your collection, and the guy who runs the card shop you're shopping in admits that 90-95% of all the cards in the shop are proven fakes...then let me ask you this...
Would you buy the card you wanted even for a decent price?? Nope, you'd assume the likelihood is way too high that it's a fake given that so many others are.
BTW -- The top scientists who argue FOR the reality of aliens and spacemen who have come here are these guys...

YUP -- you guessed, I am sure....
it's that each and every one of those guys who are the biggest and strongest proponets of the UFO/alien theories make a killing off it...
They sold books, did TV shows, and literally became millionaires hyping this stuff....so they are about as genuine, objective, unbiased, and believable as the rock band Kiss in all their stage makeup...if you wanna believe that's exactly how those rock star look all the time for real in public!!
I guess I get a real kick out of some of these people.....they promote the wildest, most insane, unbelievable, and incredulous things and claim they are devoted believers....
yet they turn on anyone else who believes a man once walked on water and performed miracles and claim that's evidence of being so gullible and unobjective!!
So everyone, I guess, is free to believe as they want......unless you believe this wild idea....that there IS actually freedom of religion in this nation...
