By now many have heard that a kid BU was recruiting heavily, Marshall Henderson, has quit at Utah and is transferring out. I hope BU is still interested and pursues the kid, but there's a whole lot more to this story...
..and while you're at it..notice all the really nice and complimentary things Bradley's fans have to say about Marshall Henderson, even though he spurned Bradley!!

First, way back when BU was still in the running and Marshall was still deciding...
Many will recall Marshall Henderson (a shooting guard from Texas who had Bradley in his final 2 or 3 but chose to go to Utah)...
was the topic of a long recruiting thread a couple years ago...
Here's the previous thread we had going about Marshall...and you will note a very interesting interchange of posts between several of us Bradley posters, and a guy who had the screen name "Manual Labor" - who identifies himself as someone
who is quite close to the Marshall Henderson recruitment - possibly a family member or an AAU coach.
Read the thread starting at about this point..and note how the other guy keeps hyping Utah as a great place to be, as a program that has "turned things around', etc... and he debates with all the Bradley people as if MH is gonna be really satisfied at Utah..
Unfortunately things didn't turn out at Utah for Marshall, so I sure hope that our coaching staff still has Marshall's phone number!!

The program is in "disarray" and "widespread rumors" that head coach Jim Boylen is leaving, and lo & behold Henderson is leaving because "in his view the Utes’ style of play and his didn’t mesh" and "Coach Boylen’s program also has certain rules and restrictions that I respect, but I don’t feel they fit with my individualism".
"It marked the fifth player who has left the program since the season ended in disarray"
..but read further and it appears that some of the vicious things being said by fans has at least something to do with this...<<<
One more thing.....Boylen turned on the press, used foul language, and in other interviews kinda blamed his own players!!

Now reflect back to the thread we had on BradleyFans and the things that were said by the guy who was arguing from Henderson's standpoint......
--a couple specific points made by "Manual Labor" and the responses that follow are:
........ that the recruits are influenced by and feel pressured by what's said on message boards! (read below as this comment from 2008 is eerily clairvoyant!!)
.... then a couple of posts by BU fans even question what criteria Marshall is using in selecting his college (Utah)
.... Manual Labor appears to suggest that the only reason Marshall would ever transfer once he makes his college choice, would be due to lack of playing time. BUT - clearly NOW - that is NOT the case, because even as a freshman, Marshall Henderson played plenty and is transferring for other reasons
.... the poster named "Manual Labor" even kinda questions why would Bradley fans really ever think they could compete with schools like Utah that have so much more to offer - bigger budgets, big time football, etc...
He seemed to imply it was a no-brainer that Henderson would prefer Utah over Bradley...so I hope the guy comes back here and gives us more info on this...

But here is the SMOKING GUN thread on the Utah board in which several fans trash Marshall Henderson mercilessly for something they heard that he had said in a private conversation in an airport...
The thread (if you can follow the odd message board format) seems to claim it is because of these slams that Henderson wants out of there!!!

So I think this shows how classless the Utah fans and the Utah coaches are...and how wrong Marshall Henderson was when he thought Utah was a better place to be than Bradley!!
He'd have been a star here and welcomed with open arms by 10,000 fans!!
I hope Marshall is listening and reconsiders Bradley.
Keep in mind, that both Darian Norris and Eddren McCain also recently left Bradley and the situation was 1000% different...nothing but good feelings and class all the way around...nothing at all like the Utah garbage!!

So, in the end both MH and the poster who went by "Manual Labor" really misjudged BOTH Bradley & its fans and Utah and their fans...
Not that it's news but several more ISU players are due in court for new offenses since the season ended...
even Dinma for another Ordinance Violation (generally alcohol offenses) ...

Speaking of court cases, SIU's Ryan Hare pleads guilty to lots of things and hopes to be able to stay out of jail long enough to transfer to John Wilkins' junior college and play there!!!

I still find it a shame that all the so-called fans who damaged both Jim Les' reputation and Bradley's standing in the recruiting market but running with, expanding, and even falsely verifying those horribly phony rumors a couple weeks ago, and not one of those who hurt the school and the coach with their irresponsible gossip and lies has yet to post even the tiniest apology or retraction......
I wonder if they have all stopped beating their wives..........
SIU lands yet another fairly unheralded and unknown juco kid...they had a juco verbal earlier this week as did ISU - what's with all the jucos - that's what Bradley is hard on course to move away from?
