Some rumors and reports about recruiting from some obscure sources..

Jarrod Uthoff, a 6-8 skinny kid that's a lot like Adam Koch, is being recruited by a lot of schools, but may be narrowed down to Butler & UNI. Iowa & Iowa State don't want to lose the instate kids and are making a late push.

Central HS junior Bobo Drummond..
"Bobo (Illinois Wolves) has really improved his outside shot and knocked down some jumpers from deep this weekend. He was outstanding on defense and really pressures the ball and gets into passing lanes. He's still forcing the issue at times and makes some plays that have you scratching your head. He's more athletic than people give him credit for being"

And completely independent people agree...

The Illinois based AAU teams are doing great nationally, Meanstreets, Illinois Wolves, and Mac Irvin Fire.

One kid Bradley has been recruiting, Shaquille Boga, from the St. Louis area, is getting some great writeups...
"Shaquille Boga of the St Louis Eagles showed great quickness and court awareness, finishing with 14 points and 7 assists ...he definitely raised his stock today.
(he has offers from...)... Nebraska and several mid majors (BU, Wichita, SIU).."

Boga is carrying the PG load with Brad Beal playing overseas....

Thomas Hamilton, Jr. says the only school he's got on his list right now is Illinois..

Zach Monoghan of Palatine Fremd got an offer from Creighton..

BU recruit Aaric Armstead out of Chicago was one of the MVP's of the 16U division of the Kentucky Hoopfest.

Remember how well UNI did and how well Valley teams have done in recent years in non-conference play??
Well, these guys don't recall....their highest rated Valley team is Wichita State at #46 with teams like St. Louis, UTEP, and Utah State ahead of them.

Last night Patrick O'Bryant had a fine game for the Timberwolves in the NBA summer league...

POB had 9 pts, 7 rebs...while his teammate on the T-Wolves, ex-Illini Jamar Smith played 12:25 minutes and was 2-5 (no 3pt attempts) and had 5 pts, no rebounds, no assists.

Oral Roberts just released info on their schedule...they play at Missouri State and host Indiana State at ORU.

Breaking news as I am finishing this blog...George Steinbrenner suffered a heart attack overnight and is in serious condition. Just turned 80 years old.
Apparently the Yankee's office in New York knows nothing but reports are coming from Tampa, Florida.
One early report said Steinbrenner had died, but that story has since been taken down.

The headline of this story was originally
"Multiple sources: Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has died"
but has been changed to "Multiple sources: Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has been hospitalized".
