Some interesting Valley news...and more

Thus far, all the comments I have seen on other Valley teams' message boards about Bradley's gave at Duke have been 100% POSITIVE!! That's great - as most of the Valley teams seem to be upgrading their schedules any way they can....or at least 9 of the Valley teams seem to be...one still isn't.

Some concern at Wichita State...they just lost their fine cross country/track coach to Bradley and also their assistant AD just bolted as well...

There are even some posts hinting at even more bad news coming at WSU....time will tell....one of the top posters at the Shocker site says there is something more to all this below the surface...
One message board poll asked fans to grade how the Wichita State AD was doing...
Fully two-thirds of those who voted gave the guy a C or worse...
only 7% gave the guy an "A"..

One of SIU's 2011 recruits is a kid named Treg Setty from Mason Co. HS in Kentucky.
He's not well know, he's 6-9 and 185 lbs, and there's a new scout.com article on him..
http://hskentucky.scout.com/2/981400.html

Pretty much the whole article is about how great the kid's ball handling skills are and how he wants to play guard. He also says...
"I can play the two or the three,” said Setty. “I can pretty much play all five positions. That’s my greatest asset. I can handle and shot (sic) like a guard,"
He isn't playing much this summer after his junior year and listen to this...
"I don’t know if I’ll go back and play anymore with the AAU team this summer. This is my last summer at home and I want to spend time with my friends,” he said. “I’m already committed to Southern Illinois, so I’m going to take it easy."

Wow - he's just gonna take it easy - doesn't sound like a very good work ethic..I guess all he wanted was the scholarship and he's got that now....
I wonder what Chris Lowery would think about this?? Do they need another lazy big guy like Nick Evans??
Also.....one other thing the kid says makes me wonder if he's really paid attention to how bad SIU has been the last few years!!
Here's what he says........
"Setty is set on Southern Illinois. “I love them,” he said. “I trust coach and he’ll put the best players around me that he can. They have the pieces to make a push in the NCAA Tournament. I see what they have accomplished in the past few years. I think they have a good chance of being something special,” Setty finished."

Another player is rumored to be leaving Northern Iowa...Matt Morrison, 6-0 redshirt freshman, is said to be going to Kirkwood junior college. No official confirmation.

One discussion on the Indiana State board centers on Jake Kelly - and some speculate he might redshirt since he's going slowly on his recovery from knee surgery.
The head coach said right now he's planning on playing but he sure isn't 100% yet.

One more Valley comment....in a discussion about the BU-Duke game, some ISU fan seems to think he discovered this info...
Well, he may have heard the rumor and posted it, but many, if not MOST good BU fans knew about this for weeks. Some for month...and yet we were keeping it quiet, since all the details had yet to be worked out and those in charge did not want the story made known yet.
ISU fans are just jealous since they haven't had a non-conference opponent even inside the TOP 100 in several years!

Royce White, 4-STAR, 6-6 wing that was booted at Minnesota might sign with Iowa State.

On the message boards, Tom Crean's coach-bashing tweets have sprung a backlash...numerous Indiana fans just saying to Tom -- hey - stop the trash talking when you can't win a danged game in the Big Ten - at least get to .500 before you start ripping on other coaches!!

UConn boots two assistant coaches as scapegoats after their phone call scandal and lying about it...

Does anyone else get the idea that all of the NBA is too individual-oriented and kisses up too much to the mega-stars, when the top news story even in the summer after the season's over is simply who LeBron is talking to today?
