Purdue had not won at Indiana for over a decade, but pulled off a win last night against the Hoosiers, 78-75.
Robbie Hummel sunk a FT with 4 seconds left forcing a long 3-pointer by Verdell Jones that missed.
Just prior to Hummel's FT, Jones had missed a layup.
Matt Roth was dressed and went through light warmups, but did not play and will redshirt this year.

Lewis Jackson played but was scoreless with 4 assists.
This is always a pretty fiercely fought game as Indiana & Purdue are intense, long-time rivals....and there was a controversial incident...
near the end of the game a Purdue player, Kelsey Barlow, made this gesture after Indiana failed to convert on the layup...he gave the "choke" gesture...

Tubby Smith got Minnesota to the NIT in his first year there, and to the NCAA in his 2nd year at Minnesota...
so you'd think the locals in Minnesota would cut the guy a little slack and stick with him...
but no....the local press is pretty danged impatient...
read this....sounds like they're ready to declare that Tubby hasn't done any better than Dan Monson did...maybe they're ready to jettison him already!!
In a way, this really irritates me...it's irresponsible...give the guy a chance....shut the he** up and quit acting like you could do better...
this is the epitome of really stupid, irritating journalism, when the guy has one of the best coaches in college basketball, and isn't willing to give the guy more than a couple years then unloads on Tubby as if he's failure.......
I suspect Tubby's a far better college head coach than this guy is a newspaper columnist!!
