Congrats to Sammy & BU, and some other recruiting news and more

Nice win last night by BU, and an exciting end that went our way for a change!!
And congrats to Sam Maniscalco for joining Bradley's 1000-point Club!

I want to cite a couple pictures from the PJS...

The first one if Coach Les beaming as his players finished the game strong, especially Will Egolf...

The 2nd pic is Chris Roberts, who hasn't gotten a lot of positive press recently but whose defense helped shut down some of Drake's hot shooters last night....good game CRob!!

I don't generally discuss recruits and recruiting, as somehow it always ends up with someone misusing the info....so generally recruiting rumors are discussed privately.
But there are a couple names that have been linked with Bradley and they are having fine years.

Donivine Stewart has been to most of Bradley's home games, and it has been said in columns that he has an offer from Bradley, but there's a little mention of Donivine in this morning's high school coverage.

"..Limestone coach Dan Sparrow has looked for scoring options to take some of the load off of all-state guard Donivine Stewart. Enter Tyler Ashby and Darren Weeks. On Tuesday night, the backcourt of Stewart, Weeks and Ashby combined for 58 points as the host Rockets defeated East Peoria, 63-50"

Also, in another column...

"The emergence of Darren Weeks has helped Limestone become a more balanced team and also cut into Donivine Stewart’s production. Stewart averaged 26.5 points over his first 12 games this season but has scored 15 or fewer in five of his last six." ......

(in his last game).. ND senior guard Tyler Les scored a season-high 25"

Paris Gulley is at Southeast CC in Iowa, and is among the NATION's leaders (Top 40) in 3-pt FG% at 48% (28-58)

PG Diante Watkins (Daley CC - previously from Chicago Hubbard) is 5th in the nation with 25.8 ppg (this is Division-I junior college). Diante is also 24th in the nation in D-I NJCAA with 5.5 assists per game.

One other name that has been mentioned recently is Abdel Nader, a 6-7 wing from Niles North (wonder who in Niles is scouting this kid?). Here is a premium article on Nader and here are a few quotes...

"averaging 22 points, 7 rebounds...I'm being recruited by Bradley, Illinois State, Michigan, Iowa, and Northern Iowa."

He also says Baylor, USC, and Wyoming are recruiting him....also Illinois.

"I might make a decision in the spring"

February 13, ICC hosts Lincoln College, a chance for anyone in the area to get a look at the kid who the ISU fans are calling their "point guard of the future", Kenyon Smith. (playing at Division II junior college)

Kenyon plays almost 35 minutes per game as Lincoln College's point guard and here are his numbers...
12.9 ppg, 34% on 3-pointers, 3.3 assists per game (2nd on his team to Kyler Works), and nearly 70 turnovers. (more than 3 TO/gm)

In fact his turnover total is among the Top 20 in total turnovers in the nation (according to NJCAA).

In their most recent game, Lincoln beat John Wood CC 69-52 and Kenyon had 3 assists but 6 turnovers.

In the previous matchup a couple weeks ago when ICC went to Lincoln, ICC won handily 79-69 and Kenyon had zero assists, 4 turnovers. Also in their recent big loss to Lewis & Clark, Kenyon had only one assist and FIVE turnovers.

Here is an odd quote from Chris Lowery...from a media interview...

"Q: "You said the team was taking `hero shots' toward the end of the last game--how important are you stressing execution?"

Lowery: "I think it's very important. I say all the time whenever we have won a game at the end that it was about the coaching staff giving us a chance to be in that position..."

seriously - what he says is that if they won right at the end, it's the coaches' credit..but if they lose....
well, here's what the very first poster in this Saluki thread says about his interpretation of Lowery's words...

"He's basically saying, when we win it's because of me and when we lose it's on the players."

Minnesota freshman Royce White has finally left school for what appears to be the last time...

Remember the talk about Rayvonte Rice?? That Loren Tate, a Champaign writer was seemingly trying to get U of I to land the kid despite his LOI already signed to Drake? Well, here's a really funny thread on one of the Illini boards....Basically is says that if guys like Tyler Smith and Jake Kelly were able to leave Iowa and not have to sit out a year, then Rice should be able to get an NCAA waiver to be able to change his verbal to Illinois.

Well - here's where this reasoning breaks down 100% and even shows some true stupidity...
Duh -- Rayvonte Rice is NOT already at Drake, he's still just a high schooler...he isn't even under NCAA jurisdiction and can reneg on his LOI if he wants but if he wants to go to another D-I school, then he has to appeal to DRAKE to release him from the LOI, not to the NCAA!! He couldn't ask the NCAA for help because he isn't transferring from Drake to Illinois!!

Lastly, we cite the almost daily addition to the multiple scandals that have plagued the climate science field and the global warming activists. Despite Al Gore's proclamation that global warming is "settled science" we are seeing many top experts now come forward and agree the science is horribly flawed, and even scandalously fraud-filled!

Here's more on the fraud of the day...that further review of some of the science noted in the secretive e mails that are now public, shows the warming activists to have based their arguments on horribly flawed data and non-existent facts and documents! Just another nail in the coffin of this argument!
http://www.environmental-expert.com/resultEachPressRelease.aspx?cid=31242&codi=86744&lr=1

Many, many legitimate media sources and other experts are all agreeing that the science is terribly fraudulent and wrong. It's about as valid as using Punxsutawney Phil as the basis for their scientific claims!!
http://www.ottawacitizen.com/opinion/Resisting+temptation/2515360/story.html

Even more lies uncovered...
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/02/02/climate-researchers-manipulated-hid-data/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%253A+foxnews%252Fscitech+%2528Text+-+SciTech%2529

But here's at least one climate science study that appears to have no flaws, and is not fraudulent and false...
it is a study of how the climate is affecting forests, trees, and the rest of the world's flora...
and guess what...the recent climate is very, very good for the world's trees and plants...not only very good, but even the GREENEST of the green minded people are admitting that the current climate is GOOD for the environment!! So what are we worried about???
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/greenhouse/post/2010/02/study-trees-are-growing-faster-because-of-climate-change/1

Just in case anyone would want to know why would scientists....even in multiples...lie just to make a point that they knew was false...
Well, I can't answer for every case, but I can sure show a very similar example right from today's news. Here is a perfect example of how a large group of scientists with an agenda set out to prove something and then did, even if it took altered, false, and fabricated science to do so....they simply did what they had to do to reach the conclusion they wanted from the outset (sound familiar?? Kinda like the climate scientists as they have now admitted in their e mails).
They even passed their peer review, but once they were exposed and debunked, those same "peers" who did peer review took 12 years to finally concede the science was fraudulent and withdraw their acceptance....in other words they continued to espouse the lies for more than a decade even when they knew them to be overt lies and fraud!!

This is the case of how top scientists used incredibly BAD science and lies to prove what they set out to prove and wanted to prove even if the facts weren't there...regarding vaccinations and their risks and autism fears.
http://abcnews.go.com/Health/AutismNews/lancet-retracts-controversial-autism-paper/story?id=9730805

Then even after the facts were proven wrong, and even after 10 of the 13 guys involved in the research openly denounced the findings as false and retracted their support for the study...
the other experts worldwide still used the results and quoted them and supported the findings that were known to be false..

Finally - after 12 years, the Lancet is officially withdrawing the article and saying what everyone knew...that the study was not only bad science, but falsified results!

Keep in mind...many, many multimillion dollar lawsuits have been awarded and even some drug and vaccine making companies have folded and gone bankrupt in this interval because of the findings in this study...
This really BAD science has probably cost the medical profession and health care and vaccine industry an estimated $50-100 BILLION!!!!

In fact, ONE SINGLE lawsuit against a vaccine maker was asking $30 BILLION!!!
seriously - one single suit !!

http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2006/01/16/editorial5.html

Kinda makes you a bit skeptical that just maybe many o the experts in a lot of areas and on a lot of topics, might just have an agenda...maybe they aren't as smart as you and me since we caught them in their lies, just like we caught the warming activists!

Lastly, as long as we were talking politics....I hope everyone got out and voted yesterday!!
Here's a great story on a woman who lost her election yesterday...and guess who she blames..
she blames a specific news station because they exposed her scandalous and dishonest behavior, that she has yet to even bother to refute, because she knows it is true! But she has to blame someone, even though she lost badly in the primary for Cook County Board President 50% to 14%!!!
http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/politics/brown-primary-83413082.html

BTW - the corrupt current Board President also got whalloped as Chicago voters finally showed a little balls and voted out some of the corrupt machine thugs....
and overall the people of Illinois clearly showed just being from Chicago or being connected to Obama was a liability...as many non-Chicagoans defeated the city guys in the primaries...especially the complete surprise of
Bloomington's Bill Brady pulling what appears to be a stunning and surprise upset win in the Republican primary for Governor!!
