A Couple Bummers

Memo to Taylor Brown, and copy to every other person affiliated with Bradley basketball, Bradley soccer, and even just Bradley University...

You guys are under a microscope, you have an unforgiving local media and if even the smallest indiscretion occurs, you'll be the headline.

That said...a scuffle at a frat party turns into a complaint to the police by a townie (we had an interesting, uncomplimentary word for the townies when I went to BU & I wonder if it's still in use). Then the complaintant's full, one-sided version of the incident gets reported as fact, and goes like this...
--bad blood, maybe over a girl, some trash talking and "yo mama"-stuff, then a scuffle where the worst that's alleged is a split lip.
Believe it or not, the accuser even fortifies his claims by saying TB went to Macy's and was "staring at the man" and "allegedly made threatening gestures toward the man at the BU soccer game last Friday".
This kind of stuff isn't even enough for TB to be given an "enforcer" reputation...this stuff sounds like spats between high school cheerleaders consist of!

Keep in mind that when Taylor Brown was the leading scorer in a five game trip to Brazil, he got nothing more than tiny mention in the back pages, and not even the courtesy of a box score.
Oh well.....obviously they go by the credo that bad news sells better than good news.

One last thing....check out this tweet....kinda confirming that the accuser, an ICC student, might have just had an agenda to lure a Bradley basketball player into some altercation for the pure reason of bringing him down and pursuing an anti-BU agenda....you decide.
this isn't just me saying this, it's the BU head coach..
"have to b smarter/control emotions/not b provoked-...
great responsibility-must always b on alert for those w/agenda!"

The other bummer news is that BU's top recruiting target for 2010 chose to pledge to Ohio rather than Bradley.
http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/2009/09/swete-16-mvp-makes-his-pick.html
I like Ricardo Johnson, and I still hope he reconsiders...and changes his mind..but if not, then he's a great kid and I wish him the best.
But Ohio plays in the MidAmerican Conference (last year's 18th ranked conference), and Ohio was a last place team in that conference last year, playing in front of only 5000 home fans, compared to BU's 10,000 average and the MVC's consistent Top 10 conference ranking.
Ohio has seven newcomers this season...at least three of whom play the same position as Ricardo.
Even their message board seems to not even care! Barely a mention!

He may just get caught in the glut looking for playing time, but I suspect he wanted to play close to home for his family's sake.
But I know a lot of BU fans knew a lot about Ricardo and wanted to see him at BU.
well...now it's on to other great prospects........

Here's a new name.....BU following
Jehvon Clarke from Canton, OH...being reported by tropicalshox
