BU plays Creighton at 3PM today and lots more interesting news...

The Bradley game today has been moved to get the game started before the bulk of the heavy snow hits. BU has been pressured by the City of Peoria people and the Civic Center folks to consider a chance or cancellation.....those people do not want 8000 people out in downtown Peoria at 10PM tonight and the Civic Center doesn't want to have to worry about all the slips and falls and cars stuck in the parking lots.
Bradley has come up with what figures to be the best solution...
all the players and refs are already here...and likely just about all the tickets that are going to be sold have been sold and the walk up crowd would be negligible.
So the game is being moved to 3PM -- even knowing many might not be able to make it who already have tickets, but it beats the uproar if a disaster occurred somewhere downtown in the snowstorm when everyone will say "we told you so - it was predicted".

I guess it's getting pretty monotonous with all the grumbling fans demanding a chance....wonder if they recall the last time they demanded a change at BU?
yup...it was basically the same people who grumbled and ran Molinari our and now they're not happy again -- gotta wonder why they have no memory of just whose grumbling they have to blame for their current grumbling -- they have their own grumbling to blame.....then looking back on what kind of team Granger, Gilbert, Gillingham, Tisby, Cello, and Tucker would have given BU had they not run Molinari out.

Well -- let's envision what would happen if they ran Jim Les out...
I am thinking under the current circumstances and given who's in charge the track record...that it's a possibility that this could be JL's last year....even tho the person in charge must know that almost every one will leave and whoever she gets will have to start completely over and we'll have at least 3-5 years of really bad...
Get ready ---

When ISU made their change from Moser to Jank..at least they still had a bunch of holdovers in Jank's first few years...that weren't so totally loyal to Porter Moser...although Jank did have to hire Eldridge's HS coach to keep him..
But can you imagine that this year would be Jank's 4th in a row at the bottom of the Valley had he not had Eldridge, Dinma, Dyer, Holloway, Boo Richardson, Anthony Slack, and Dom Johnson simply fall into his lap when he got there.
Even Sampay was likely there because Porter was onto him.

You gotta remember who Jank's guys were the first couple of years......
Ty Modupe, Jeremy Robinson, Kenyon Smith, Kellen Thornton, Blake Mishler...he wouldn't have won with any of them...

....and I am 100% sure all the BU guys would be gone..all have close ties to JL and you are fooling yourself if you think anyone with any talent would stay and play under the current circumstances. And what kind of new guy would we get who'd want to come work under such "circumstances".....
All I can say is that I love my school and my team and will always support them, but like many I might not support so strongly if we see it being demolished by BAD decisions....
Let me ask you....if you could save $20K per year with on simple and easy choice would you do it? Just do the math....BU will lose upwards of 20 times that with the aforementioned bad decision.

Did You know -- the two top D-I "power conference" schools in our state are going to be really desperate next season for a point guard...and they're not alone....
So will a few other top nearby schools -- they'll be looking for someone with solid point guard skills who is a proven ball handler, scorer, and someone with both experience but who could play right away....
Guess who they might be looking at.......if he or THEY "were available"...
Yup -- Donivine isn't likely to want to stay and play for someone who never recruited him...he does have other options.... ;)
Recall that most generally incoming players if there's a coaching change would get a release.
Some post-grad students can, too......

David Collins had the best game of his pro career Sunday --
against a team, Achilleas, that had ex-UNC Tarheel Bobby Frasor as its leader, David had 19 points on 8-15, 5 rebounds, and 4 blocks.....
David's previous career high was 17, and his pro average is now 9.4 ppg.
Collins' teammate, ex-BU recruit Tyrone Kent from Toledo, had 17 pts.

Zach Andrews continues to shine with another monster game....
He only 8 points in his team's 75-69 win Sunday -- but he grabbed another 19 rebounds!!!
This is NINE out of the last 10 games in which Zach has had double digit rebounds...and over that 10-game span he's averaging 16 rpg!!!!
His season averages have zoomed to 13 ppg and 13 rpg!! Zach's FG shooting is also at 66.1%!!

Will Franklin's Tunisian Basketball League has been totally on hold since early January and may not resume due to the rioting and political unrest.
The teams are still holding occasional practices but there is fear that with travel restrictions and other dangers, that the season may be over.
Will's team, ES Sahel, is sitting in 1st place at 18-1.

Here's a story about another American basketball player in Tunisia..

Indiana State is having a "White Out" tonight for their game hosting Wichita State...which, of course, is ironic since they planned this long before any news of a snowstorm!!!

Anyway -- how come they're not having a baby-blue-out, isn't that their new trendy color??

Great news for Tyler Les......but you have to read between the lines........

Tyler, of course, is a freshman at UC-Davis...but their BracketBuster opponent on Feb. 19 is Hawaii....
They are hosting Hawaii this month in the BracketBuster competition but you can figure out what that means!
Since the return game for the BracketBuster will be in 2012-2013...then anyone who is currently a freshman or sophomore on the UC-Davis is gonna get a nice trip to Hawaii a couple years down the road....
Have fun Tyler....

Ex-BU recruit Daniel West has been ruled academically ineligible for the rest of the season at Rhode Island.....I guess this isn't a shock -- as this is why our guys passed on him.
Providence is 2-7 in Big East with their win over ranked teams, 'Nova & Louisville.
Keno Davis is already getting heat....sound familar in this day of instant gratification fans??

Speaking of Keno, he takes yet another BIG hit...
he loses top recruit and almost certainly guys like John Calipari are behind this as Cal needs to restock every season.

Ex-Peoria Manual player Marvin Jordan is yet again proving lots of people wrong who claimed he was NOT a D-I player...
If you were one of those doubters, then read this...he's not only a fine freshman point guard but an outstanding student academically as well!

Hardly a week goes by that some ex-player of Calipari's or Huggins' is in the news again...and not for good stuff...
this week it's Shawne Williams, now on the Knicks after being waived and released by the Nets..
Williams
Williams added to his string of drug arrests and brawls by starting yet another brawl against the Atlanta Hawks and getting suspended..

Did you know Tennessee is set to retire the number of one of their greats...Allan Houston...
but here's the oddity...
prior to 2005, Tennessee had never so honored a single one of their players.
In 2005, they retired the numbers of Ernie Grunfeld and Bernard king -- but no other Tennessee Volunteer has a mention in their rafters....that's odd........seems a little bit of a slap in the face for some of their truly great players like Allan Houston, Dale Ellis, and Tom Boerwinkle.

This is a scary story --- the 40 year old daughter of Duke's head coach Mike Krzyzewski just had a rare kind of serious stroke..
Thankfully she is expected to make a recovery...

She works for Duke in their Athletic Department...

Iowa State's Calvin Godfrey has been suspended for 3 games buy the coach for team rules violations...
http://is.gd/B6xgzt

Some students who have posted on one of their boards are saying it is due to underage drinking violations handed down at a local restaurant when they were checked by police.

Also -- another Iowa State freshman was also just suspended for an incident where he had an accident while driving drunk...but he got only two games even tho he crashed his car and danged near killed someone!
Would that have gotten only two games suspended in Peoria?
Seems like a lot of issues so far in just the first half of his very first year there at Iowa State for Fred Hoiberg....so hows the press going go on Fred??
