There's tons of talk on conference realignment, but one thing that would surprise me very much would be to see any of the Valley teams change conferences. All the talk of change is based on football, NOT basketball...and there are really only one or two Valley teams that have been even noticable in football over the past decade. UNI has been the strongest, but I just can't see any other conference jump to add a new member that's so obscure as Northern Iowa....if the Valley members grumbled for years about having UNI in their midst, then surely the Big 12 or whomever would as well.
So anyone who is talking of possible changes in the Valley as a result of the other conference talk, then it is so far out that I wouldn't even give it a consideration...
Here's a mention of a player drawing some Bradley interest...

OMG - RENEGADE PROGRAMS EVERYWHERE!!!
Wichita State basketball players arrested!! (note how little press this gets in Wichita - had this been Peoria, whoa...the entire front page!!)
http://www.kansas.com/2010/05/11/1308121/basketball.html
and of course a girl alleges she was raped, and it's all swept under the rug and names kept out of the paper in St. Louis...

and the Bobby Hill assault on an underage girl has been pretty quiet, and he's still on the team...
his hearing was last Friday and virtually no news has been reported anywhere...

BTW -- Bobby has six other arrests in Bloomington over the past couple years...

Yet another rant that barely mentions anything relevant to basketball..but instead dwells completely on how bad these guys think everyone else is doing their reporting...
Is there ever an occasion that they can just give a report about basketball without taking a swipe at everyone else?
http://ilprepbullseye.com/page29.html
Anyway -- here's what the ilprepbullseye guys say about Kyle Cain...
"We also shake our head at the wave of transfers that occur among former Chicago area prep stars who often transfer just one season after they have started their collegiate careers elsewhere. 6'7 Kyle Cain, who prepped at Thornton Fractional North High School in Calumet, IL and was Illinois Prep Bulls'eye's most underrated prospect in the Class of 2009, is leaving the University of Rhode Island. We never thought that was a good fit for him..."
But...hellooooooooo, bullseye guys....Kyle Cain spent this year at prep school and although is verballed to Rhode Island, he has NEVER yet enrolled or been there and he certainly is not -
"leaving the University of Rhode Island"
and he did NOT -
"transfer just one season after they have started their collegiate careers elsewhere"
he is still a recruit and can change his mind as much as he wants, .........geez..these guys sure do have the whole thing wrong....considering their whole point of this blog post is to rip others for not getting things right!!
By now most of you have seen this story about the 22 year old impostor posing as a high school basketball star...
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/05/22-year-old-texas-high-school-basketball-star-arrested-for-posing-as-16-year-old-/1
This kid graduated from a high school in Florida in 2007 and was briefly enrolled in Highland Community College in Freeport, IL in fall of 2007 but left school.
However, you'd have been way ahead of the rest of the nation on this and other stories if you were folowing this blog...as we had this story of the impostor kid in Texas LAST WEEK right here in this blog!!

DePaul has a new commit...a pretty obscure guy but at least it's a Chicago area kid and a Mac Irvin AAU kid, so coach Purnell is getting his foot in the door!!
He is a 6-3 forward who had few offers but who did have some mid-major interest...

Speaking of obscure...Minnesota just got a LOI from a really obscure kid....
unlisted by scout.com...and no-stars by Rivals...

I am thinking we might just hear soon about a new BU hire for assistant coach...
Next time you hear someone say it was the hottest year on record or this month was the hottest April ever....etc...then just remember this...
the data they are using his hand picked data and selectively includes only the data they want to use to prove their point.
If you don't believe me, then check it out...they do have an agenda...and it is very cold out there today - it is not as hot as it has ever been...even a fool can see that!!

Here's one very telling quote...
"For example, Canada's reporting stations dropped from 496 in 1989 to 44 in 1991, with the percentage of stations at lower elevations tripling while the numbers of those at higher elevations dropped to one. That's right: As Smith wrote in his blog, they left "one thermometer for everything north of LAT 65." And that one resides in a place called Eureka, which has been described as "The Garden Spot of the Arctic" due to its unusually moderate summers."
