A few miscellaneous stories...

Great to hear that Mitchell JJ Anderson's son, Mitchell, Jr....has signed to play at a D-I school, Arkansas - Pine Bluff. He is an athletic and somewhat talented kid but has never been much of a scorer...thus he's been overlooked. But his contributions could be akin to what JJ Tauai gave to BU - some hustle, some athleticism, rebounding, defense, steals, and some occasional scoring.
I't been fun tracking the kids of some of the old BU greats...Hersey's kids, JJ's, as well and Sammy Maniscalco, Daniel Ruffin, and others.

Walter Offutt was a 4-Star recruit out of high school and went to Ohio State right on the heels of the Greg Oden year and in the class before the one that also included Evan Turner...but he never played much and had injuries...
Then he left and transferred to Wright State and has now left there playing very little....
He first said he'd come back and walk on at Indiana (because having received scholarship aid at Ohio State he's ineligible for a scholarship at any other Big Ten school), but now he's got a scholarship offer from Ohio....so the kid is bouncing around quite a bit, and there's been a bunch of players coming and going at Indiana, and a lot of people think Indiana is going be 5-10 more years rebuilding....so it appears he might now be switching his thoughts and may end up at Ohio.
But Ricardo Johnson, the kid Bradley really wanted will be there...and Offutt might just have a hard time even finding playing time there......so in the end this is an example of a talented kid who chose unwisely.......and was foiled by better talent playing ahead of him, by coaching changes, and by transfer restrictions

BTW - it'll be interesting to see if anyone will allow Emmanuel Negedu to play, as Indiana's Coach Tom Crean desperately wanted the kid since his roster is so devoid of any talent, but the IU administration won't clear the kid who almost died due to heart stoppage and has an implanted defibrillator. I see both sides, the kid wants to play and is even willing to sign a waiver...but schools are leary - since even with a waiver, the families of kids who have died under just those exact same circumstances still pursue big time wrongful death lawsuits that the schools have to defend.
Funny how Indiana was so willing to spend millions on lawyers defending its actions with Kelvin Sampson, but now the potential cost of lawyers scares them off with this case!! LOL......

More Big Ten news...Richard Semrau will NOT return to Illinois next year and has transferred to St. Edwards University in Austin, TX for his final year.
They are NCAA D-II.

DePaul just filled an opening on it's staff after one of the assistants Oliver Purnell hired left right away to take another job. Coach Purnell passed over rehiring Tracy Webster and passed on David Booth and hired Michigan assistant Brian Ellerbe - who has no strong connections to the Chicago area high school coaches.

One Chitown coach, Simeon's Robert Smith says he should be considered for the head coach spot at Chicago State! He's never been at the college level....he'll likely fail there as well...the place is filled with corruption.......

At UIC - the only players Jimmy Collins has coming in are very obscure and unheard of kids, and all but one of the six incoming are juco kids and transfers and none of them a kids he landed locally....kinda like SIU and ISU!!!

I thought Jimmy Collins was a heck of a recruiter....he sure was said to be when he was at Illinois. For years people wondered why he didn't have a head coaching job because he was such a "great" recruiter.
If BU had this kind of success the fans would be rabid.........

Here's a really weird story - and the guy almost pulled it off......
a supposed 16 year old high school basketball star turns out to be really a 22 year old impostor, illegal alien from Florida who had fooled just about everyone, and was living with his high school coach and his coach was said to be his legal guardian!
I have always thought these "living with his coach" arrangements are shady and usually mean someone's cheating or lying!

A funny bit on the NCAA -

Michigan offers an 8th grader (a girl!)

Lastly - the names of the three Saint Louis University basketball players who were apprehended after charges of rape then released...were never made known.....
but the names are known and are being discussed in a premium and private blog.
It is still possible the accuser may pursue other legal routes and may take the case before the administration of SLU, and the players may yet face at least some discipline for their actions.
........ and they are...
Kwamain Mitchell, Willie Reed, and Jon Smith who is transferring.
