Some mentions of local athletes...

If you don't follow nor care about local HS sports around Peoria -- then pass on this one...

BUT -- Eureka legend Craig Gerdes has taken over the past two years coaching baseball at Eureka College and has them on the right track...
But a couple kids I coached way back are the feature of a Woodford Times story..

Aaron Tolson, Alex Hess, and Tim Cashdollar are Eureka's graduating seniors...and here's a nice story on them and their success....
together with pictures...

The issue of the Woodford times also has nice features on Metamora softball, tennis, and these stories on Eureka College softball:

In local girls' soccer -- PCS' Cortney Allenbaugh scored three goals over the weekend to total 25 on the season - the area's best total and her team, the Chargers head into the state series seeded #1 in the Region. Not too far behind her in the scoring race are Holly Bennett of Morton, Kayla Mueller and Kayla Campbell of Morton also, Sam Miller, Jill Sidler - the only sophomore form the list of top scorers, and a few others who just all happen to be Morton Blaze Club members and alumni....
In fact, only three of the area's top 10 scorers has NOT played for the Blaze! Pretty impressive.
Pekin HS, Morton, and PCS are the three top teams in our area.

Notre Dame's Tyler Les is reportedly going to have a new head coach at UC-Davis tomorrow -- a familiar name -- but not yet confirmed..
