More Updates - Darian Norris, Coach Mo, and more on Roger Powell

Ex-Brave Darian Norris is a really good guy, and almost all BU fans understood his situation and why he left...
After a year at juco in Utah -- he's now a junior at University of San Diego -- and he will battle right away for a starting spot and time at the point guard position.

Just to show what his chances might be, USD went to Canada a couple months ago and played three games in a pre-season exhibition tour -- and Darian was just clearly their BEST player.
On their 3-game Vancouver trip ..their first game was against Thompson River College which they won 75-64 with Darian playing the PG spot and netting a dozen points.

Then they played University of Fraser Valley, losing 73-61 - but Darian was scoring leader with 13 pts, and 5 assists

Their 3rd & final game was vs. University of British Columbia, which USD won 91-83 OT -- Darian scoring a team high 15 pts

So I think it's safe to say he has found a good spot for his abilities -- and he will do fine there at USD -- getting a chance to star and run the point....
Their regular games start November 12...

And just a little followup on past Brave head coach Jim Molinari -- now head coach at WIU --
here's a blogger for University of Minnesota basketball who has some great things to say about Coach Mo..
"..Coach Mo was the defensive specialist for the Gophers, and ended up being the interim head coach when Coach Monson resigned. I had never met a man that loves college basketball as much as I do, until I met Coach Mo. He lived and breathed the game, recruited 24/7, gave absolutely everything to the program, and on top of it all, he did things the right way. Next to my Dad and Brother, Coach Mo is probably the best man I’ve ever known, and he was someone I really wished would have found a place on Tubby Smith’s coaching staff. He ended up on his feet as I knew he would, as the Head Coach at Western Illinois, which also brought him much closer to his family. I am honored to call him a friend, and I know that if I ever needed anything 5, 10, or 20 years down the road, he would be there for me in a heartbeat. I really doubt many coaches are that grateful to the people who run their student sections."

--Pretty much sums it up -- Coach Mo is truly a great guy -- and anyone who knows him already knows that.
Here's a little update on Mo's team at WIU this year -- here's hoping Mo and son Billy have great seasons...
