Some Bradley news items

Geno threw out the first pitch at a Normal Cornbelters game -- much to the dismay of some of the ISU fans...
but one local station did have some video coverage of Geno Ford at the Community Events...

I saw some video of Geno at the Cornbelters game - but that video is not on the TV station's web site...

They also have video coverage of sammy Maniscalco and his teammates going to Italy...

Bradley becomes the first school to offer a schoalrship to rising sophomore Larry Austin of Springfield. A close friend of Austin's, Payton Allen also has his only offer from Bradley.
By the way, there's a great new premium article and interview of Peyton Allen on one of the DePaul sites after Peyton's DePaul visit...I have all the details at..

This is not a public site, so if you want to read the premium stuff you have to contact personally and get this....
Anyway - Peyton talks about his only offer ftrom Bradley and seems to be less than impressed with DePaul and their chances of winning any time soon.

Lastly -- Bradley players, you just never know -- years and years later -- people will still be talking about you...

OK - normally I don't waste my time correcting other people's extreme errors..but someone pointed out one comment to me and asked me if it was true...and of course it is NOT...

Now -- you're gonna have to hold on to something so you don't laugh right off your chair -- but seriously -- this is precisely (cut and paste) what someone on another message board just said...
"I remember when Len Bertolini was offered $200,000/year out of high school to play professionally in Italy. That was a lot of money back then but he chose BU"

Does anyone else see the silliness here?? Len Bertolini wasn't a bad high school player but nobody in the entire universe would have even offered him a penny to play professionally in Italy out of high school. Maybe after he finished college - but even then it wouldn't have been $200,000 which would have been the equivalent of nearly $1 million today!!
I know Len, and he did have professional opportunities but not for that kind of money -- and ONLY after his college career was over - but instead he chose to stay in the US and pursue a business career...which, by the way, has been quite successful.

Maybe they are thinking about Len Bertolini's father who was honored by the Illinois Assembly -- but he never was asked to play in Italy either...

Or maybe this is where the error was blown into existence..
