Most common gripes

Over the years of reading the message boards of all the Valley teams, I am going to nominate the MOST COMMON gripes I see coming from each of the fan bases within the Missouri Valley.
See if you agree...and note the paradox that I see.....that each team's most common gripe is generally something one other team in the Valley has done well, yet that team finds something else to gripe about...none of the fans bases seems to demonstrate much satisfaction or tolerance for the direction their program is going.

I have lumped the teams in pairs and groups to show the irony of their contrasting complaints...

-Bradley - "even though we have post-season appearances and even some fine NCAA wins, we just never seem to finish high enough in the Valley or win league titles"
-Creighton - "even though we win Valley titles and always finish at or near the top of the Valley, we just don't advance in the post-season and have no NCAA wins to show for it"

-Drake - "players all stay for 4 or 5 years but the coaching turnover kills us"
-SIU - "coach turns down other offers to stay here but player turnover kills us"

-Evansville - "too many local kids - just can't seem to draw out-of-state talent"
-Bradley - "too many out-of-state kids - just can't draw the local talent"

-ISU - "good teams recently, lots of wins, yet no decent post season success and paltry crowds that never get out of their seats"
-Wichita State - "not good enough recently, but some nice NCAA wins & Sweet 16, yet BIG crowds that are loud and raucous"

-Indiana State - "player dischord, lots of academic issues, and coaching turnover"
-Creighton - "player dischord, good academic, coaching stability"
-SIU - "player dischord, good academics recently, rumors of coach leaving every other year, and too much player turnover"

-UNI - "good teams every year but can never make it past the first game in the post-season"
-Drake - "bad teams almost every year, but the one year we won almost 30 games, we still didn't make it past the first game in the post-season"

-ISU - "nobody seems to appreciate all the wins we've racked up in the past couple years of the Jank era"
-Bradley - "20 years every season and the fans still grumble"
-Missouri State - "hey -we tried to play one of the toughest schedules, had an RPI of 21 and still got snubbed by the NCAA"
-NCAA - "don't expect much cred when you play nothing but 300+ RPI teams, and with that kind of schedule, the entire rest of the Valley loses cred and gets no at-large bids. The Valley teams with those laughably soft schedules are hurting everyone else in their league"

-SIU - "we never recruit a decent true center"
-Drake - "we have way too many big guys that take years to develop"
-ISU - "we never seem to have any depth at PG"
-UNI - "our big men are too slow"
-Bradley - "too many jucos"
-Indiana State - "too many small, slow guards"
-ISU - "too many transfers, we're the reigning 'Transfer U'"
-SIU - "too many thugs"
-Creighton - "too many prima donnas"
-MSU - "too many guys who can't shoot"
-Drake - "our players are smart but not tough"
-SIU - "our players are tough but not smart"
-Creighton - "too many players get injured and we're snakebitten"
-Bradley - "too many players get injured and you can't use that as an excuse"

Here are a few nominations for
"Most ignorant post of the Decade!"...and they come from message boards right here in Central IL

start with this one posted locally...
--"Only Tauai, Crouch, Ruffin, Singh, Adams will have completed 4 years of school under JL"
..I guess that's true if you don't note that it was five years Danny Adams completed under coach Les, and the four years completed under Les by Brian Lavin, and then Gillingham, Heemskerk, Marcello, Gilbert, and others who all COMPLETED their full four years since Jim Les took over as head coach.
Also, since the recently released academic data says Bradley is at the absolute TOP of the Valley in athlete graduation and in success & graduation of the basketball players, then how does anyone come up with such an ignorant statement as this?

--Before the BU-UofI game.... "Look for the ILLINI to put a spanking on the Braves......"
..yeah...right....now come back and admit you were wrong...

-- this was said about BradleyFans.com message boards...
"although that is an active message board, it is important to remember that it represents a miniscule portion of Bradley fandom, and they most certainly are not representative of most Bradley fans I know."
...hmmm is having several hundreds of people online at once happily discussing the BU victory over Illinois is "miniscule" and "not representative", then what do you call, a totally empty message board, devoid of any positive comments, even after such a great win?

--a comment about the Bradley-Illinois game went like this...
"at one point Nick Smith literally just ran over a Bradley player to clear the lane and got an easy layup"
...someone needs to tell this guy that not only has Nick Smith not played for Illinois for several years, even when he did, he was totally incapable of ever making such a move as was described!

-- "This was bradley's first win against a Big 10 team since 1997."
...Really?? Hmmm..and I thought Iowa was in the Big Ten...

--(post from 11/30) "We are now 28 days since the suggested deadline of Nov. 12 for nominations"
...30-12 does not = 28

--lastly...you can get a pretty good idea of who are the counterfeit "Bradley Fans" ...
whenever BU gets a really great, and really memorable and exciting win, and while just about everyone is talking about it and enjoying the moment....there are a few of the self-proclaimed "REAL" Bradley fans who disappear and don't post at all until something negative comes up.
They don't seem very "Happy" when Bradley gets one of these really great wins, the refuse to jmp into the discussion and hide until they have something to rip about, and they seem to be on a quest to discredit everything to do with BU and its fans...and appear truly bothered when BU has success like this!
The evidence is clear....they are counterfeit and phony Bradley fans, and you know full well where you can find the real ones.
