The Latest NCAA Academic and Graduation Data

The Missouri Valley and especially Bradley University show very, very well in this data...
several schools definitely DO NOT, including Illinois State, and the joke of most all of the NCAA, Maryland...under the reign of head coach Gary Williams!

2009 NCAA Division I Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Data is available here:
http://www.ncaa.org/wps/ncaa?key=/ncaa/ncaa/ncaa+news/ncaa+news+online/2009/division+i/division+i+graduation+rates+reach+all-time+highs_11_18_09_ncaa_news

CONGRATS to Jim Les, Ken Kavanagh, and the rest who have succeeded in placing Bradley among the elite in the Nation in these data!!

Overall Average for D-I is at al all time high, average is 79%

Here are the data for the MVC Men's Basketball Programs...

Illinois State 50% - not only last place in the Valley, but way, way last - so far behind the next to last it ain't funny!

Kansas State 62%

UNLV 46%
New Mexico 43% (the continuation of the Ritchie McKay legacy)
Ohio State 60%
Saint Louis 64%
USC 43% (too many OJ Mayo's)
Syracuse 55% (Jim Boeheim pulling a Gary Williams?)
Tennessee 30% (and it won't get any better with Bruce Pearl's druggies and flunkies all getting booted left and right)
Texas 47%
Texas Tech 50% (in case you still didn't believe that a lot of Bobby Knight's players never graduate!!)
Utah 57% (includes a few years of the Rick Majerus era..btw--BYU was 100%)
Wisconsin-Milwaukee 75% (thankfully BP wasn't there long enough to destroy these numbers)

This is at least the 8th consecutive season that Bradley has finished at or near the top in the Valley!
The NCAA links allow you to search all the past data, and Bradley has succeeded every year to excel...while a few of the MVC programs repeatedly lag behind...
The program that has made the best improvement among basketball programs is UNI...who have zoomed from around 30% GSR back just 5 years ago up to now at the national average.
They still have a way to go to catch Bradley's success rates!
Interestingly, the best years for Bradley...the kids entering since Jim Les took over, are still not included in this present data...so Bradley's 90% will actually get better!!!!!!!
