Dyricus Simms-Edwards has now gotten the cast off his wrist and is ready to go.
He is playing basketball and working out now for the first time in four months since his wrist surgery.
Word is that in the interval he's worked on weights and conditioning and is totally ripped.

Want a little humor?? OK...at the expense of a Creighton fan....check what one of their fans says on the Creighton Bluejay message board.
http://creighton.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=2688&tid=125403003&mid=125403003&sid=1209&style=2

Because of all the seniors and jucos, the Bluejays will have SIX scholarships to fill in 2011.
(Harrimann, Korver, Lawson, Runnels, Stinnett, and Walker's scholarship will all open up)
Six open scholarships all at the same time, and presently Creighton doesn't have a single commit for 2011 and this poster points out that they don't even appear to have many targets (but who would really know that as I am sure Dana Altman doesn't lay his cards all out on the table!).

But note the idea this poster has....he suggests that
Creighton use TWO of those six scholarships, and NOT use the other four....in other words SAVE four scholarships for the next season!

Has anyone ever heard of such silliness?
I have heard of saving a scholarship and "banking it" for the following year, and I suppose I could imagine in an extreme situation, if you are already stocked with 5-Star players, that maybe you could bank TWO scholarships, but who has ever heard of such an odd concept of banking and saving FOUR scholarships all at once?? (especially when the remaining players left behind are all guards, not a single frontcourt player!)

I will go on record as severely doubting this will happen. Not a whole lot of mid-majors have the luxury of NOT using scholarships when available....they just don't have the ability to stock the bench so deep that you can leave four scholarships open...in fact that's why even Dana Altman is scouring the land for junior college recruits...he needs help and he needs it now...
Creighton has landed as many jucos & prep schoolers the past few years as anyone!

In just the opposite scenario....University of Indiana has AT LEAST sixteen scholarship offers out for 2010 and 2011....sixteen, and yet....they have apparently only ONE open scholarship between now and 2012...
They have so many newcomers, freshmen, and sophomores presently, that for the next two full recruiting classes, unless someone leaves, they only have ONE more open scholarship...
but there are already strong rumors of players going to get Creaned to open up rides for all those 4- and 5-Star recruits who have been offered should any actually want to commit.
